Frequently Asked Questions

Where are we located?
The Flag Shop Ltd. is based in Christchurch, New Zealand and all our flags are dispatched Monday to Friday both nationally and internationally.  Pick up is available during our business hours of Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.  Please CONTACT US first to arrange pick up.
Can we send overnight delivery?
Yes we can send via overnight courier should you select the "CourierPost" method at checkout and order before 3:30pm weekedays.  In 98% of the cases this will arrive to you the next working day but there may be an issue beyond our control with the courier network that causes a delay.  Where possible select a New Zealand city or town address (metro area) as this is more likely to reach its target of overnight delivery.

This service is able to be selected at checkout for all non New Zealand delivery address.  Typical delivery timeframe for international packages sent via this service is 2-4 weeks.  Should you require an International Courier option then we can offer this service through DHL or EMS.  Costs for these faster services is more expensive and you will need to CONTACT US to arrange international courier option for your location.
Do we custom make flags?
Yes we can custom make flags and banners and we consistently have one of the most competitive prices in New Zealand for our custom made services.  Whether a one off flag or a bulk order we can make great quality flags at affordable prices.  Please see our CUSTOM MADE FLAGS page for more information.
How long will my flag last?
Lifetime of a flag varies greatly depending on exposure to wind, rain, pollution and UV light. All flags eventually wear out and will need replacing.  Flying your flag only in daylight hours and not using in extreme winds will extend the lifetime greatly. Our heavy duty Polybunting flags are designed for longer term use outside and you should expect to last longer than our standard polyester flags.  Some customers however prefer to go for the lighter polyester flags where they get a better cost to lifetime ratio in their weather conditions.
Should I go for a heavy duty flagpole or a regular flagpole?
We stock 2 grades of upright flagpoles in addition to the wall mounted flagpole.  The Heavy Duty pole has a 60mm diameter, a metal thickness of 3mm and is white powdercoated aluminium, whereas the regular pole is 50mm diameter, has a metal thickness of 1.7mm and is anodised aluminium.  For commercial premises or areas that are consistently exposed to high winds we suggest opting for the heavy duty flagpole.  The regular flagpole is suitable for all other residential purposes.  For a single story house the 16 ft or 20ft option is suitable but if going next to a double story house we recommend the taller 20 ft option.
What payment methods do we accept?
The following payment methods are available at checkout:  Credit Card payment via Visa or MasterCard, PayPal payment, Bank transfer, or Cash on Pickup.  The fastest methods of payment is either by credit card or PayPal where your order will ship immediately.  Bank transfer is to our New Zealand Kiwibank account and funds must show before order is dispatched.   Cash is only accepted for pick up orders.
Do we wholesale our flags?
We supply a number of various retail businesses around New Zealand who onsell our flags (Marine and chandlery stores, militaria stores, tourist and souvenir shops etc). There is a minimum order to be met initially to obtain our wholesale rates.  Please CONTACT US if you wish to enquire about our wholesale prices.
